As Chair of Rothamsted Enterprises Board, Maggie Jones is responsible for leading the Board in developing our strategy and vision, providing clear strategic direction, and ensuring that Rothamsted Enterprises delivers for all our shareholders. Baroness Jones is Shadow Minister for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, is a British Labour Peer and Vice Chair of the Science and Technology in Agriculture Parliamentary Group. She was previously a trade union official and has held non-executive positions in several consumer and environmental organisations.
In her role as CEO of Rothamsted Enterprises, Nicole is responsible for driving forward the growth and development of the business portfolio whilst supporting our business community to grow on site leading to our science delivering impact.
Her infectious enthusiasm coupled with her significant leadership and management experience in public and private sectors mean she has the perfect blend of business acumen and communication skills to take Rothamsted Enterprises forward to meet the various needs of our many stakeholders. Nicole places great importance on delivering excellence across the customer journey and consistently looks to improve our offering to ensure we deliver the strategy for Rothamsted Enterprises.
Asmaa joined the business in March 2015 and as our Head of Client Services and Innovation Programmes, she is responsible for the provision of services to all our tenant companies based in the Daniel Hall, Lawes Open Innovation Hub and Russell buildings. Asmaa has an extensive knowledge of the innovation programmes and scientific research being undertaken by our tenants and the scientists at Rothamsted Research and she uses this knowledge to enable collaboration and innovation to thrive.
She is also the team’s resident polyglot and the first point of contact for international clients. Outside work, Asmaa enjoys travelling with her family and can usually be found somewhere far-flung and exotic.
Steph runs our front of house team with a pleasingly incongruous mixture of iron discipline and creative flair; meaning the team never stop moving and you never find out how the magic happens behind the scenes!
With over 10 years’ experience in the service industry, she believes in delivering exceptional service and experiences for both customers and employees. Originally classically trained as a portrait artist, she now spends most of her time trying to balance her artistic tendencies with her business brain. Is she one of those annoying perfectionists? Yes. If she can’t bring your vision to life, then she will be sure to bring life to your vision!
Ivana joined Rothamsted having previously managed public, private events and weddings in a number of 5 star establishments in London and Hertfordshire. She is passionate about delivering great food and quality service and has a great attention to detail gained through 20 years of experience working in the hospitality sector. Ivana brings with her a keen interest in History, so enjoys the opportunity to promote the history of the Rothamsted Estate and especially loves spending time in the Manor.
In her free time, Ivana is a wonderful cook and enjoys entertaining, reading and travelling with her family.
Jez joined the team back in 2018 and runs the restaurant and kitchen team. Originally from Luton, he is a lifelong fan of Luton football club.
Having joined the catering industry after leaving school, Jez began his career as an apprentice chef in London. He worked in many prestigious establishments including a 3 Michelin starred restaurant in London as well as restaurants overseas. He has a real love of food and cooking and had achieved two AA Rosettes by the age of 25. He had the pleasure to cook for and meet the late Diana, Princess of Wales and the then Prime Minister John Major.
In his spare time, he loves the outdoors and is a real adrenalin junky. Jez is also a keen golfer, an avid cyclist and enjoys playing tennis.
Claire is our marketing and communications specialist. Welsh and proud, and with a strong eye for detail and a creative flair, she has over 20 years’ experience in the world of marketing, communications and sales, and is responsible for driving forward the sales and marketing strategy.
Claire is constantly on the look-out for new campaigns ideas, crafting compelling messages, developing and promoting our range of events, as well as creating fresh new marketing content, to build awareness of our brands and to drive engagement with our internal stakeholders and external audiences.
Cake and chocolate are two of her favourite things. She’s always happy to taste test! In her downtime you will usually find her running around after her young family.
Joanna is the marketing executive, working with Claire on all areas of marketing for Rothamsted Enterprises. With 16 years of marketing experience, coming from a career primarily in Financial Services, Joanna understands client’s needs, having booked many conference venues over the years, and prides herself in producing client focused marketing communications and materials. Having spent many years of translating complicated financial data into readable content, Joanna enjoys the opportunity to communicate the variety of exciting events and work going on a Rothamsted.
Joanna is a keen designer and crafter, often with many creative projects on the go at once, and enjoys visiting the local Hertfordshire countryside and surrounding area with her young family.

A motivational speaker and mental health champion in her own time, this busy lady is really all about family at heart. And aren’t we glad we can count her as part of ours! We think her super power is ‘organisational wizardry’, but her dream would be the power to right any wrong.
Sophie is caretaker to our own events, both ticketed and non, from idea conception, through to close. Alongside this, she proactively seeks and promotes new business sales for both Rothamsted Conference Centre and Rothamsted Manor. She relentlessly tries to upgrade her sales performance, consistently utilizing her intuition, past experiences and creative abilities to map out more effective ways to ensure client expectations are met and maintained.
A self-confessed film buff, she enjoys all things superhero, sci-fi, and horror related. Bookish to boot, she enjoys reading crime stories and has written a few short stories of her own.
Fiona originally trained with Cooper & Lybrand (now PWC), working in the UK and USA. Subsequently she worked for many years as a Chartered Tax Adviser and in the financial services sector. After completing a Psychology Masters and working as a researcher in Health & Environmental Psychology, Fiona joined the team at Rothamsted Enterprises.
Fiona’s role at Rothamsted Enterprises sees her looking after invoicing for all our events, placing orders with our many suppliers, and handling any invoice queries for Rothamsted Agri-Tech Business Centre, Rothamsted Conference Centre, Rothamsted Manor and Rothamsted Restaurant.
In her spare time, Fiona loves to travel to exotic destinations, preferably combined with a bit of scuba diving! She also enjoys the theatre and opera. Baking and knitting are high on her list of fun pastimes
Dan has been a chef for over twenty years and is hugely passionate about food and his role at Rothamsted Enterprises. Working alongside our Head Chef Jez Beasley, Dan is responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen as well as the kitchen staff. In his spare time, he loves going to the cinema and enjoys eating out, golf and going to the gym.
